A) ABOUT HORSES:
1. What are the the 5 most common pathologies of horses? Mention them and give a little description too.
1) Tetanus: Is a bacteria that enters the body at the sight of a wound or the
umbilical cord stump in a foal. Its symptoms are early signs of colic
and stiffness. Horses will develop spasms in the jaw, neck, hind legs
and muscles around the wound.
2) West Nile Virus(WNV): is a mosquito-borne virus that causes encephalitis and/or meningitis. Typical signs include muscle trembling, skin twitching, ataxia that appears suddenly.
3) Rabies: Is transmitted through a bite from an infected
animal. It is a highly fatal infection of the central nervous system.
Its symptoms include: increased saliva, excitability, disorientation
and running blindly.
4) Navicular disease: a chronic degenerative condition is a cause of lameness. Confirmed by hoof X-rays, first signs are stumbling and standing with pressure off the heel.
5) COPD, or Allergic Lung Desease: is very similar to asthma in humans. If left untreated, they lungs may be permanently damaged, resulting in "heaves".

I found this website and I liked it because it teachs about sheep for example what is the difference between sheep and goats, shows their products (lambs, milk... I don't like this part), how they are raised. I like very much read about how do dogs help shepherds take care of sheep and how do livestock guardian dogs help protect sheep from predators. I like know what diseases can I (you) get from sheep too. I like the website because uses simple language and pictures to illustrate all the topics.
